On March 27-30th, the 8th Annual SoCal Tango Championship and Festival (a non-profit event) will take
place in Irvine, California. Over 500 attendees around the world travel to participate in this event. SCTC
is the largest international competition in the US with over 150 competitors. Our mission is to unite
communities through the shared passion for Argentine Tango music and dance. The Festival features
world renowned tango maestros, highly sought after workshops, incredible milongas with celebrity DJs
and breathtaking performances. The Championship features ten categories: Pro-Am Tango De Pista
under 55 years old, Pro-Am Tango De Pista 55 years and older (New), Tango De Pista (Open), (New)
Tango de Pista (Amateur), Milonga (Open), Vals (Open), Tango de Pista Senior (Amateur), Escenario
(Open), Group Escenario (Open) and Jack & Jill (Open).
We attribute our success to tango aficionados, community supporters, event organizers and tango
businesses that have been contributing graciously throughout the years. It’s because of these
donations that we have been able to attract high caliber participants from around the world, making
SCTC one of the best known and respected tango events in the world.

opportunity to perform at a prestigious milonga in Buenos Aires, festival/milonga/marathon passes,
